Free Circular Coaster DXF Files for Laser Cutting

This free coaster DXF file includes four circular laser cutting designs in one download, each drawn as a single connected piece with an open cutout pattern inside the round border. The designs are made for cutting, not engraving: the empty spaces are cut away, and the remaining connected geometry forms the coaster.

Each coaster is drawn at a 120 mm circular size, which is a common starting size for drink coasters. Since this is a 2D DXF cutting file, that size is not a fixed finished limit. You can scale the designs before cutting to match your material, machine area, and intended use.

The set includes four different coaster styles:

• Cross band coaster: the circle is divided into wide diagonal sections filled with parallel stripe cuts. It has the most modern graphic character in the set, closer to clean line work than to a traditional motif.
• Ornamental medallion coaster: the center is arranged symmetrically with curved decorative forms, a radial middle, and a dotted outer border. This one reads more like a carved round rosette than a geometric grid.
• Asanoha star lattice coaster: the surface is filled with a dense repeating star and hexagon structure based on the Japanese asanoha pattern. It is the tightest design in the set, with smaller bridges between the cut openings.
• Seigaiha wave coaster: rows of overlapping half circle arches spread across the round shape. Compared with the star lattice, this pattern has a calmer and more flowing look.

All visible pattern lines are cut lines. The designs use open lattice work, so the look changes with the surface underneath: a dark table, light wood, colored acrylic, or fabric background will show through the cut openings in different ways.

You can cut these round coasters from wood, plywood, MDF, acrylic, cork, leather, felt, or another thin sheet material that your machine can cut cleanly. They can also be scaled and used as decorative round DXF patterns, small panels, or light trivets when the material and finished size suit that purpose.

If you scale the file down, check the finer areas before cutting. The asanoha lattice and the dotted border on the medallion coaster include the smallest bridges, so reducing the design too much can make those connections fragile in thin or heat sensitive materials. The cross band and wave coasters have more open spacing and are more tolerant of moderate scaling.
